Turn research code into maintainable systems

While researching code emphasizes rapid verification, long-running systems also require stability and observability. The transition between the two should be completed through clear interfaces and step-by-step verification.
Split responsibilities
Separate data acquisition, processing, model calculation and result saving. The interface explains the input, output and error behavior, so that the adjustment of one module does not have to affect all links.
Make failure visible
Establish clear status for timeouts, missing and abnormal results. Silently skipping failed steps can make the system appear normal, but gradually accumulate unexplained data differences.
Verify changes step by step
Validate using representative data in an isolated environment first, then compare old and new results. Save the version and configuration required for rollback to avoid a single modification that leaves the team without a usable baseline.
